Hybrid Cloud Management (HCMX) is the latest generation of monitoring, control and operation of cloud services and proprietary services on virtual platforms. HCMX delivers information and functionality to end users, developers, IT operations and management. HCMX FinOps Express is a market-leading cloud management solution that offers advanced financial management capabilities for cloud services (FinOps).

More and more organizations are moving more of their IT production to deliveries based on cloud services. This quickly creates a need for better control and overview. Where are the various systems operated? Who is responsible for each service and how much does it cost?

Whether the services are produced in your own data center, at an outsourcing provider or at a cloud service provider, there is always physical infrastructure "at the bottom", including servers, storage and network equipment. So even though cloud services make IT more affordable, it's still important to have good tools for control and overview.

Hybrid Cloud Management (HCMX) has four main functions:

Service portal (orders, subscription overview, changes, etc; closely integrated with the SMAX portal if the customer has this product)
Service design tools (which servers, databases, applications should be included in a service and how are they related to each other)
Orchestration for lifecycle management; rolling out and updating cloud-based services for AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc. or "on-premise" private clouds
Dashboard/reporting for an overview of which services you have, their utilization and the costs incurred

HCMX is tightly integrated with SMAX, so tightly that the order catalog and processes are accessed through the same portal and mobile application. On the same platform where SMAX and HCMX run, you'll also find integrated service and equipment configuration with automatic scanning of infrastructure.

HCMX also supports integration with other OpenText products such as Operations Bridge (OpsB), Data Center Automation (DCA) and PlateSpin Migrate.

OpsB is an operations tool for servers and applications, delivering a "top tier" of monitoring across the entire infrastructure - cloud-based and in the data center.
DCA is a tool for installing and updating (patching) operating systems, ensuring that the right version is used at all times, with the highest possible security and protection against vulnerabilities.
Platespin Migrate enables you to move your entire IT infrastructure from physical or virtual in your own data center to a cloud provider, between cloud providers, or for that matter to move services "home" to your own data center from a cloud provider.

It's easy to define templates for cloud services, regardless of the detailed service structure of the cloud provider. HCMX makes sure to use the right commands and API calls for the given cloud service provider.

Orchestration for lifecycle management

Supports Day 2 Operations and can execute automated processes for all phases of the service lifecycle.

Dashboard and reports

Modern dashboard that can be customized to the individual's needs and reports that provide a good overview of performance, resources and costs.
